"We started to research contractors in March 2009 to remodel our kitchen and upstairs area (2 bedrooms and a bathroom) prior our moving back in to our house in August 2009. We meet with two contractors who did a walk though, made suggestions, and followed up with an estimate.. We choose Bruce Van Waes for several reasons, he had the best suggestions on what could be done with both areas, he was prompt at getting us an estimate, cost was slightly below competitor, and just his genuine interest in working with us.
Fast forward to September. We were not living in the house during the remodel so we were not able to monitor all work being completed. We had email communication with Bruce and he did keep us well informed...including pictures of the work completed. Bruce required minimal payment until we were able to inspect the work, this was quite different from other contractors we have worked with, however, Bruce wanted to make sure we were satisfied before final payments were made.
Overall, the work was exceptional, the kitchen cabinets and counter tops were beautiful, new kitchen floor plan (Bruce's idea) opened up the entire second floor of the house, and upstairs- bedroom carpet and painting great, new open bathroom floor plan wonderful. There were a few minor things that needed tweaked, he had his guys out immediately and all was fixed. We did have one major unsatisfied job, the new kitchen hardwood floors. Bruce sent his guys in to see if they could be fixed without have to tear them up and replace with all new wood. They tried to fix, but still we were not satisfied. This is were Bruce excels...making sure a job is done right, customer satisfaction is everything to him. He sent in another crew to tear up and replace the entire kitchen floor and the new floor looks great.
We have worked with other contractors and will say in comparison, our experience with Bruce was excellent. His costs were very reasonable, he is extremely reliable, he is trustworthy, and he is about making sure the job is done right.

We have several other home projects we need to complete in the next year, and rest assured...we will call on Bruce to get the job done."
